SUMMERTIME SECRETS

PLEASE CLICK TO VIEW DETAILED BACKGROUND.

Mixed Media Art. I created the metallic dry embossed background using metal tape (the kind you find in the hardware stores) over cardstock. I then used Alcohol inks (droplets and canned air to disperse them)to color the silver metal tape. I then dried the background and ran it through my Cuttlebug to emboss. I then completed the art piece by adding the sweet young girls who look like they are sharing secrets in their own fantasy world. I added 2 butterflies as well as a corner of butterflies, before framing the image.

A ROSE IS A . . . . HANDMADE ROSE (WHEN CREATED BY HAND)

I created these roses with silk petals I purchased many years ago. We knew a fellow that my husband worked with that had parents in Hong Kong. They were owners of one of the largest silk flower houses (aka companies) there. I had a box of petals for various flowers shipped and spent almost all my spare time one winter creating my own flowers as I did silk flower arrangements at the time. Later I decided I would 'gilt' them to use in my crafts and these are but a few. Rather than use Stickles, which can get costly when doing a lot of flowers, I purchase very fine glitter by the bag from a Canadian Flower supply company, and use that with regular white glue (LePages Bond Fast white glue). A shallow dish with glue, and a shallow dish with glitter does the trick. Just dip and dip. Fun too! Hugs, Gayle.

HANDMADE FABRIC FLOWERS

PLEASE CLICK TO ENLARGE FOR DETAILED VIEW

Thought I would share these fabric flowers I have created using a lightly patterned cotton fabric that I stabilized and stamped with some of my Magenta flower stamps. I used Stazon ink and embellished with pearls. I hope you like them. Hugs, Gayle.
